Valentine's day..Why to celebrate and Why not to...

 Many people have different views about celebration of Valentine's day...Every celebration has its own history... Valentine's day is celebrated in the memory of a catholic church priest Valentine in the 3rd century. Saint Valentine performed secret marriages when the Roman Emperor Claudius II thought single soldiers (without marriage) were more likely to enlist in the army. Due to this deception, St. Valentine was imprisoned and executed on February 4, 270 by the Roman emperor. It is believed he was responsible for giving the jailer's blind daughter back her eyesight. And before his execution, he sent her a note saying, "From your Valentine." This phrase is still widely used on valentine's day today. In 496 A.D., Pope Gelasius set aside February 14 to honour St. Valentine. Gradually, February 14 became the date for exchanging love messages and St. Valentine became the patron saint of lovers. The date was marked by sending poems and simple gifts such as red flowers. But question comes in mind, does people only started loving after Saint Valentine? There was no exchange of love at all before that? Absolutely not...People used to love before as well.. Love is god's gift to us...St. Valentine became the symobol for lovers... But I personally think that to express our love, only single day (Feb 14) should not be a requirement... Each day is same for us...I have seen many of my friends lose their beloved ones only for not expressing their feelings on Valentines day... Valentine’s Day doesn’t mean anything at all except for the meaning we give it. The people who get the strongest reaction around it, good or bad, are really just looking for reassurance that they are loved through a made-up holiday. If you are single, you want a Valentine so can feel lovable. You celebrate when you have a date...What about rest 364 days?? Do share your views...
