| All liquid is to be removed and the system purged with steam and/or flooded, per detailed operating procedures, with water until free of hydrocarbons. An exception is opening the CDEthers Column for maintenance without replacing the catalyst. In this case, inert gas and not steam should be used to free column of hydrocarbon vapors after a butane wash is done to remove residual methanol and TAME from catalyst pores. |
