[资源] NIH的postdoctoral fellowship都要求是绿卡持有者，这难道是美国招博后的趋势吗？

今年看了两则美国的本专业的招聘贴，发现了一个奇怪的现象，两个博后招聘贴子都一致的要求是只招美国公民或绿卡持有者，印象中只有美国国家重点实验室才会提这种要求，一般的NIH的项目都可以招没有绿卡的J1 或 H1B 的Ph D，像两个招聘贴子所提到的一个是位于新泽西的罗格斯大学Rutgers University，另一个是位于路易斯安那州的Pennington Biomedical Research Center都是高校或一般的教学机构(.edu)，但只有一个共同点，他们都是NIH下面的项目，换句话说，是不是现在在国内毕业，或在其它国家转到美国来的，没有拿绿卡的PH d 们都不申请美国国立卫生研究院NIH项目的所有博后位置？估计这个要求就会砍掉过半的申请者（即使你有高影响力的publications)，看来要想进入这些部门或这些项目的研究机构，绿卡估计是必然的趋势...

或者退一步说，在美国持有J1或H1B签证的我们，虽然心里一直在留下和回国这两个选择中犹豫不决，但既然已有这个趋势了，我们是不是应该先考虑拿一张工作通行证？也就是几千美元的事情，将来要是回国了，大不了放弃绿卡，如果国内没有合适的机会，至少拿着通行证也可以尝试进学校或NIH的机构甚至美国国家重点实验。。。或者也可以尝试去公司，实现转型。。。

前两天，同实验室的一伊朗哥们跟我说，他因为没有绿卡，面试后都以此理由被拒掉了，我问他是不是申请国家重点实验室？他说只是一般的学校而尔，这更让我觉得这个趋势的必然性，那哥们后来总算找到新东家了，然后跟我说第一件事他说要先搞掂green card...也可能是由于伊朗人一心要留在这里吧。。。

如果楼主已经下定决心在美国长呆，我鼓励楼主申请绿卡。至于将来是继续留美还是回国那是后话。

不过说到NIH，NIH这么做的原因其实很简单，因为NIH的绝大部分机构根本就不被允许办H1b！

因此，一个博士后就算是J1豁免了，或者本来已经是H1b了，那他也照样进不去NIH，因为NIH无法给你提供H1b。他们那里必须绿卡或公民。

另外很多公司也是一样道理。这就是为什么很多人那么着急办绿卡。
