Electrochemistry of Semiconductors Electronics Processes and Devices This book reflects the confluence of two trends. On the one hand, Electrochemistry is reemerging as a vital scientific discipline after many years of relative obscurity. Issues such as the space race, the energy crisis, and the environmental movement have prompted rapid expansion in electrochemical research and the subject is becoming an important foundation of modern technology. On the other hand, the relentless drive towards faster, more compact electronic devices continues to probe the limits of materials science, setting ever higher goals for semiconductor purity, crystal uniformity, and circuit density. The following chapters discuss possible electrochemical avenues towards these goals.
