“Robotics for Laboratory Automation” By Guest Editors Wen J. Li, Ph.D., and Ning Xi, Ph.D., of City University of Hong Kong

Abstracts due February 15, 2012

The Journal of Laboratory Automation (JALA) invites the submission of abstracts on Robotics for Laboratory Automation topics for consideration as original research articles, reviews or technical notes in the 2012 JALA Special Issue. Abstracts will be used to select and invite papers for final review. This is an excellent opportunity to share your expertise and heighten your professional profile in laboratory automation and robotics. The application of Robotics towards recent advances in Biology and Medicine are particularly encouraged.

JALA is looking for high quality, short or full length data-driven research papers and/or reviews on robotics for laboratory automation, screening and diagnostics.  Areas of interest include but
are not limited to:

Robotics in Screening Technologies Clinical Diagnostics
Micro/Nano Applications of Robotics    Cellular Manipulation
Novel Biological/Medical Instrumentation Medical Robotics
Agricultural Research       Cellular and High Content Assays
  Assay Development       Genotyping
  Target Validation       Reports of Drug Discovery Activities

Submit Your Abstract Before Wednesday, February 15, 2012:

►  Submit a title and abstract (up to 500 words) for your proposed manuscript as an MSWord document/attachment to ,nhallock@slas.org.  Please conform to JALA submission standards (www.slas.org/publications/journal/jala_submissions.cfm).

►  Include “JALA Special Issue” in the subject line of your e-mail.

►  Include your name, affiliation and contact information within the text of your e-mail.

Criteria for the acceptance of abstracts include: (a) clarity of presentation, (b) defines an area of work that may have utility in drug discovery for epigenetic targets, (c) contributes to the overall scope of epigenetic science, and (d) scientific and professional diversity of the contributors.

Following abstract selection, final manuscripts will need to be completed and submitted by Tuesday May 1, 2012. All submitted articles will be subject to peer-review to ensure scientific rigor, clarity of expression and integration with other contributions in the JALA Special Issue.  Up to 20 papers ultimately may be published in this JALA Special Issue.
