[交流] Don't Bury Your Head in the Sand

well, last time I introduced the idiom "as cool as cucumber"
and it's really interesting to get the origin of idioms, isn't it?
do you guys still remember that?

And today another idiom will be introduced here

"Don't Bury Your Head in the Sand"

which means refusing to recognize or deal with a problem, somewhat escapism(逃避现实)
well, as for its origins, the ostriches will be referred to
they were thought to be dumb
c's when they faced the predators they just hid their heads in bushes instead of hiding the whole body
maybe they think they can't see the enemy, then the enemy can't see them either
this is something like the story "plugging ones ears while stealing a bell"
the story we learned when we were young

Actually, sometimes the ostriches do lie on the ground to make themselves not noticeable
and the saying "burying their head in the sand" maybe started
for people saw them lowering their heads when they are feeding

And here are some other idioms about the body:
Put a bug in your ear: To suggest or give a hint
Talk to the hand (because the face ain’t listening): Shut up - I've no interest in hearing what you say (while holding the palm of your hand towards someone)
Silver spoon in mouth: Born into wealth
Bite your tongue: Don’t say it or you shouldn’t have said it

So, you guys getcha these?
and maybe you can also propose some other idioms about the body....

Don't Bury Your Head in the Sand
