Do educational institutions have a responsibility to dissuade students from pursuing fields of study in which they are unlikely to succeed£¿ Educational institutions, long been known as the critical orgnizations for one's life, have a responsibility to instruct people how to become success. So, here comes a question: Should these institutions dissuade those students furthering studying in the field in which they seem unlike to succeed? To those who don't have any interests in the field that they learnt, the answer is certainly yes. For those pupils, required to continue studying the "boring" things is a sheer waste of time. Instead, if they were asked to do other things that they seemed intriguing, they may get to their heydays much easier. And my sister's story serves as a typicle example. My sister, excelling in drawing pictures, always flunked maths in preliminary school. After her matriculation to middle school, her art teacher told her to follow some master in drawing instead of staying in the classroom learning maths or physics as others did. Five years later, when she was still in the college, she has her first exhibition of drawing in the city. However, to the students who didn't try their best and had inclinations to quit, the educational institution should encourage them instead of dissuading. As the saying "No pains, no gains", people cannot achieve their climax of career without painstake pursuing. If it were not the supervisor's encouragement before deadline, how could John Nash think about the game of theory, which plays an important role in today's business and made him win the Nobel Price? Moreover, even after being dissuaded, one can still achieve success if he/she has a determined will. Being told he had no gift in playing basketball by his coach in high school, Micheal Jordan still trained himself throwing basket more than 30,000 times everyday, and finally became the greatest player in the National Basketball Association(NBA). In sum, we should not always attribute one's success to the educational institutions, no matter what they did is dissuading or encouragement, we should still keep in mind that "where there is a will, there is a way". So great...![]() ![]() ![]() Well, as for the pupils, then don't even have any ideas of what they are interested in. Thus, the educational institution may play a vital role in guiding for their dream.. Once we know what's our goal, we should insist on it and never give up.. Then we will get what we want. |
