At present, many domestic and foreign researchers are working on a new technology of heat transfer enhancement in a longitudinal vortex generating element of enhanced heat transfer technology. The rational design of longitudinal vortex generating element can obviously improve the heat transfer effect, can also play the flow drag reduction effect, so the use of longitudinal vortex generator vortex induced by thinning or disrupting the fluid boundary layer, is an effective gas side heat transfer enhancement measures, not only can improve the efficiency of heat exchanger, but also can reduce the weight of the equipment and volume, simple and convenient processing, accord with energy-saving technical requirements. Therefore, as an effective passive enhanced heat transfer technology, longitudinal vortex generators are being more and more widely used in all kinds of heat transfer enhancement field.
In this paper, through the numerical simulation of a novel combined rectangular wing vortex generator is placed in a rectangular channel with a corrugated fin channel flow and heat transfer characteristics are studied. For a rectangular channel, on the Reynolds number is 2000 ~ 16000, respectively, without a longitudinal vortex generators, placed rectangular wing wing vortex generator and the combination of case studies, it was found: combined wing than rectangular wing has better heat transfer performance, when the combined wing wing angle of attack, attack angle, the main wing ailerons flaps to the front distance, the bottom of the ailerons, flaps, ailerons distance length height changes, heat transfer performance and heat transfer performance of different characteristics. Observation of channel in fluid flow can be seen: the fluid in the longitudinal vortex generators near has produced multiple vortex fluid along the flow direction, with the development of multiple scroll gradually move, fusion, finally forms a large counterclockwise whirlpool. By contrast: combined wing than rectangular wing produces scroll, affecting a wide range, high strength; when the vortex generator vortex in the channel near the left into upper and lower layout, and finally formed the maelstrom from left to right under development, channel better comprehensive properties; when the vortex generator vortex in the channel near the left about layout, and finally the formation of big eddy has been in the middle of the channel position, channel heat transfer enhancement performance good.
