14th World Conference on Earthquake Engineering

Purpose The Fourteenth World Conference on Earthquake Engineering will serve as an international forum at which soecialists in earthquake engineering and relevent fields may exchange the latest research results and technologies. The aim of the Conference is to provide a platform for researchers and practitioners worldwide from a broad range of disciplines to collaborate in reducing the impact of earthquakes on our society and natural environment. Official Language English will be the official language of the Conference for both oral and written presentetions Venue The Conference will be held inBeijing,China on October 12-17,2008.As the country's capital,Beijing is ahub of China's politics,culture and international exchanges.With a history of more than3,000 years,Beijing boasts of countless cultural treasures and landmarks such as the Great Wall,theMing Tombs,the Forbidden City,the Summer Palace and Temple of Heaven.The colorful and relaxed lifestyle includes the Peking Opera,Chinese fine arts and handcrafts,as well as the art of Chinese cuisine.October is the best season in Beijing when blue skies and golden autumn leaves create a wonderful combination under mild temperature between 11 and 16. |
