11.11 is meaningful to Americans
|

When people are all thinking about 11.11 as single day, you may not know how meaningful this day is for Americans. 11.11 is Veteran's Day to memorize those people who served the country and people. Though many of them were in battle such as Vietnam War before, the blood and sweat, even life could not be ignored and neglected. In university, we have one day off at 11.11 for celebration or lecture to honor those people who once fight for something. Those things may not be considered as right things now because of different inclination of interest and definition of justice. This day was set due to World War I. Nov. 11th is the date when the War ends in 1918. So president Wilson announced the date as Armistice Day. Then it changed to Veteran's Day. Personally speaking, I cannot admit those people attending Vietnam War and especially those who still think their actions were correct. That's it. |
