泡沫分离技术是近些年得到重视的分离技术之一。早在1915年泡沫分离就开始应用于矿物浮选,近些年研究的重点转向生物分离领域,特别是蛋白质的分离。其原因是泡沫分离技术对浓缩水溶液的低浓度表面活性物质特别有效,而生物分离过程中的许多蛋白质等物质不仅适合泡沫分离浓缩的物质要求,而且其生物表面活性物质在发酵液或排放的废水中浓度都很低,特别需要这种费用低、无污染和操作简单的泡沫分离技术进行浓缩,也就是生物分离过程中的初分离。

Foam separation is one of separation techniques obtaining attention recently. Early in 1915, foam separation was utilized in mineral flotation and has focused on field of biological separation, especially of protein. The reason of this change is that foam separation is extraordinarily efficient to low-concentration surface active material in condensed water solution. Most proteins etc in biological separation meet the requirements of foam separation and condense and its surface activity is low in zymotic fluid or waste water. Therefore, they need this low-cost, environmental, and simple-technique foam separation to condense, which is initial separation in biological separation process.
