| It is important to mention at this time that an ongoing project already created a breadth and depth of feedback and was considered a part of documentation and archived records. The project was being documented with industry standard Project Management Institute guidelines (PMI Online, 2004). The researcher had virtually unlimited support from the corporate management and expected to use unsolicited feedback from all project participants. Such data was classified as proactive user response to information system evolution. It was only possible as the entire project had a corporate sponsorship and buyin from all system users. Data collection created a detailed use case or system performance analysis. Additional insights to the case data collection were possible after analyzing historical and current data pertaining to the performance of IT systems. That information was used during system performance testing and benchmarking. System testing and benchmarking was presented as the only quantitative data analysis as the performance must be quantified using acceptable metrics (percentage improvement reduction in time, enhancement by time or other acceptable units of measurement, or model comparison between various stages of the project). |
