| This chapter continues with a summary of findings and results of the analyses conducted for this investigation. The holistic nature of the problem required use of a case study as the most appropriate research methodology. Qualitative and quantitative elements of the research are combined in a single case study. This approach allowed connecting qualitative and quantitative elements of the research into a comprehensive case study. It begins with the detailed description of the research; research timelines, and data collection process and a detailed process improvement analyses using stage activity (S-A) framework as previously discussed in chapter 3. The information and data in this study was obtained from archived and historical data review, observation and participant observations, and knowledge gained during formal interviews and informal conversations pertaining to the subject matter. The researcher was able to interact with IT and was directly involved in creating a decision support responsible for the creation of the new integrated information management system. A number of research findings are presented as a system analysis or a causal relationship between the new system, performance of the new system, or a tangible benefit of the new system. |
