The Health and Status report reflects the present condition of the FSIR gauge. A subset of this information is returned to a supervisory workstation as two sixteen bit words, CHECK 1 and CHECK 2. CHECK 1 and CHECK 2 values are presented on the SAMPLE CHECK screen display after a normal standardization. These two values may also be limit checked against preset low and high limits. The entire display as shown in Figure 19 is based on these two items. With the FSIR Data Acquisition CHECKOUT display, more information such as individual channel diagnostic measurements are now available for display. The array is comprised of fourteen different checks on the health and status of the FSIR gauge. These checks are only to alert the operator of a real or potential problem. Each bit that is set represents a specific test that failed. In the Health & Status report, these tests are listed along with the OK or FAIL result. When the checks are performed, a value other than zero for CHECK 1 indicates one or more tests failed. This does not necessarily mean that the FSIR has lost the ability to measure accurately. However, it is advisable to verify the FSIR with standard samples. This should not prevent operation of the line, but should allow the line to continue while a service call is made.
