Those days
She changed her photo into the one taken in the little garden reclaimed by me, she watering the seeds of cucumber and carrot just planted. When I saw the transformed picture, I asked her whether she was missing the days we spent in Nepal, filled with original flavor, despite of lack of water, electricity, and even snacks we favorite included. Besides, there flow too many mosquitos we need endure, and wandered the mice we have got used to, and flocked the ants on the desk accompanied with us almost day by day. However, we were still willing to reminding of those days we blended ourselves together with the nature.
When lose ourselves in the city neon, perhaps what made us moved most is only our simple but hard life even we have ever complained. Nevertheless, when we retrospect that tranquil rurality hard to find in our daily life, its meaning is profound. Drown in the noisy from cars and buses and hindered our outlook by the skyscrapers, people gradually adjust themselves to the situations, and don’t forget the vibrant life of the champaign but they are forced by the pressure from the life. Returning to the primitive life can purify one’s soul, just like the children in Nepal, their feet naked to play football on the grass mixed the weeds and even the little rocks. Their childish smiles were so charming that we recall our childhood.
I don’t know whether the past have been replaced by the modern civilization which makes people caught in a so-called more and more perfect world where but I know I cannot be disturbed by the crow early in the morning, and in the night there were no glowworms flying around us, twinkling and flicking as the stars in the sky. Maybe she has still remembered the night the electricity died and candles were ignited, we together drank some wine and ate the stewed chicken feet round the desk. Until now those days have gone away, but they have been one part of memory, on these busy and rush days, making us keep one peaceful heart.
Maybe next time I have no courage to experience the life again. But the life seemed to bring us back to the childhood. At that time, we can imagine the universe and embrace the nature. All the things are fresh, the air, the water, the wood and the life. I hope someday I can find the life fit for me and pursue for it to the fullest.
