ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE &TECHNOLOGY 投稿求助

最近想试着投一下环境类最好的期刊《ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY 》，但对投稿具体要求有些掌握不好。 投稿后，编辑给我了些意见，让我修改后再投。请大家告诉我一下，下面这些话具体我应该怎么做？谢谢！ An additional graphic is required in the manuscript; it should be clearly labeled as TOC art. (It will not be included in the word count.) Submission of Table of Contents (TOC) Art is now required for Research Articles, Policy Analysis papers, Critical Reviews, and Features. TOC Art will not be considered in the calculation of the word equivalents. TOC Art will appear with the online version of the paper next to the abstract, and in the electronic TOC for the given issue. TOC Art may be selected for featuring on the ES&T website and/or the journal’s cover(s). For further information, please review the TOC Art section in the author guidelines. We are requesting that you shorten your manuscript. Environmental Science & Technology has a 7000 "word" length limit for Research Articles. The method of counting is : count all text, excluding references and figure/table captions. Next : add at least 300 words for each figure, scheme or table. Large multi-part figures or extensive tables should be counted as 600 words. At the discretion of the Editor, some figures or tables may be counted as more than 600 words. Using this method your paper contains about 9500 words. [Text about 4100 words + 300(18) = 9500] PLEASE NOTE: You must re-submit the manuscript under the same manuscript number for consideration of publication. In ACS Paragon Plus, you will now find this paper in the "Unsubmitted Manuscripts" queue on your author home page. To make the suggested adjustments to your paper, click on that link, locate the paper, and click on the "Continue this submission" link and proceed as necessary. If the manuscript remains over 7300 words please provide a detailed and compelling explanation in your cover letter. We do not want to publish incomplete studies but do want you to keep the manuscript as short as possible. We encourage the use of Supporting Information which can help you provide a complete "story" and help us to stay within our page budget. The assigned editor retains the option to require further shortening before initiating the review process. Authors are encouraged to shorten the text of manuscripts by designating extensive maps, tables, graphics, spectra, calculations, derivations, databases, or other material of interest mainly to specialists as Supporting Information (SI). This material will appear in the electronic version of the paper on the ES&T Web site. SI is available to all persons who access the ES&T Web site, and it will be archived. It is also indexed and abstracted by Chemical Abstracts. There is no limit to the amount of material placed in SI. 请指点，谢谢！如果可以交流就更好了。十分感激！ |
