As IT becomes more and more integrated with all school operations, companies that manage charter schools must use it to extend learning opportunities and provide academic excellence. Chapter 2 will discuss the level of information technology integration with school operations. The central principle underlying this movement is that charter schools foster knowledge as a business process. It has not been analyzed to the extent that may indicate any level of causal relationship between different models, but the very aspect of IT is often used as a potential indicator of how such integration could proceed (Keegan, 2004; Leidner & Jarvenpaa, 1995). One of the possible conclusions was that IT could be a significant integrating factor between administrative and academic sides of public education. Such integration cannot be introduced by adding computers to school environment but by introducing IT as a strategic vision and following such a vision. |
