Postdoctoral Position in Nanophotonics Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in the Cao group that is immediately available. The research of the prospective candidate will focus on exploring a wide range of novel optical functionalities in complex nanostructures. Projects involve synergistic efforts in fabrication of nanoscale devices or structures by sophisticated top-down techniques, probing local optical fields of single nanostructures, and electromagnetic simulation/calculation based on analytical and numerical models. Candidates should possess a PhD in physics, materials science, electrical engineering or a related discipline, and a demonstrated scientific and technical expertise in one or more of the following: light-matter interactions, metamaterials, plasmonics and optical spectroscopy. Applicants should have demonstrated capability to initiate, conduct and publish cutting-edge research. Independent work, strong self-motivation, and eagerness to publish in high ranking are very important assets of the successful candidate.
