| General Procedure for Propargyl Alcohol [2 + 2 + 2] Cyclotrimerization (26). Vacuum-dried resin 4 (800 mg, 0.86 meq, 1.0 eq) was swollen with degassed toluene (20 mL) for 10 min. A stock solution of Grubbs’ first-generation catalyst (0.1 M in degassed toluene, 3.4 mL, 0.34 mmol, 0.4 eq) and propargyl alcohol (500 μL, 8.6 mmol, 10.0 eq) were added via syringe and the mixture was stirred at 90 °C overnight. The resin was cooled, washed, and dried to afford isoindolines 26/26′. |
