A number of scholarly papers and articles discussed later in chapter 2 focused on
academic performance comparisons between charter schools and traditional public
schools. Casey et al. (2002) argued that very little research was devoted to whether the presence of charter schools management created market like environments that enhance systemic improvements in public education. More detailed analysis will be provided in chapter 2. One important element remained similar throughout the research: school management companies were an integrated element in a successful charter school strategy (Bohte, 2004; Becker, Nakagawa & Corwin, 1997; Casey et al., 2002; Finn & Kanstoroom, 2002, Johnson & Landman, 2000). Since administrative performance was repeatedly used to demonstrate the difference between a typical public school administration and charter school management, more time needs to be spent to analyze primary differences between those two models.
