Zhang et al. reported the synthesis of high surface area mesoporous c-Al2O3 using Al(NO3)3/NH3/urea/CTAB system. This mixture was subjected to hydrothermal treatment at 100¡æ for 48 h.They observed that with only Al(NO3)3/urea mixture, very low surface area of 158 m2/g with a pore volume of 0.14 cm3/g was obtained. The surface area then increased to 276 m2/g and the pore volume to 0.21 cm3/g with the addition of CTAB. |
