Synthesis of titania microspheres with hierarchical structures 0.25 mL of nonanoic acid was dropped into 20 mL of absolute alcohol and 80 uL of 0.1 mol/L KCl aqueous solution was added. After stirring for 15 min, 0.5 mL of tetra-n-butyl titanate was added under violently stirring. 5 min later, 1 mL of double distilled water was added. The milky white precursor microspheres suspension was kept static for 24 h and collected by centrifugation. The precursor microspheres were dispersed in an ethanol-aqueous solution. Then the suspension was sealed within a Teflon-lined autoclave (25 mL) and heated at 160 ¡ãC for 16 h. Following wash with ethanol three times, the precipitate was dried at 40 ¡ãC.
