第23届国际甜味剂讨论会会议稿（2006年8月4-9日） HIGHLIGHTS The 23rd International Sweetener Symposium was held August 5-9, 2006, at the Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa in Asheville, North Carolina. The meeting was a success and attendance was strong with more than 400 people from the world sugar and sweetener industry participating. The informative program, compelling panel topics, and impressive headline speakers helped make this one of the best Symposiums ever. Symposium highlights included: - James Woolsey, former director of the CIA, discussed energy security and the role alternative fuels might play. - Senate Agriculture Committee Chairman Saxby Chambliss (R-GA) provided insight into the budgetary and political hurdles facing the next Farm Bill. - House Agriculture Committee Ranking Democrat Collin Peterson (MN) discussed how decisions made in Washington about trade and farm policy could affect America’s sugar producers. - Rep.
