Guangdong Academy of Forestry Job Title: Research Fellow Date Posted: 06/25/2011 Application Deadline: Open Until Filled Job Description Summary: Study of forest genetics and tree breeding. Should have international research experiences with forest quantitative genetics, and tree breeding. • quantitative genetics and breeding strategy • linear model and breeding value prediction • marker-assisted selection and breeding • statistical modelling and bioinformatics • Additional info: The successful applicant(s) will join forest quantitative genetics and breeding of forest trees in Forestry Research Institute at Guangdong Academy of Forestry. The applicant(s) must have demonstrated scientific productivity, possess good interpersonal skills and will be expected to work as a team leader of a rapidly growing group examining quantitative genetics and breeding of forest trees. Qualifications: The applicant(s) must have a PhD in Forest Genetics and Tree Breeding or a closely related field. Preference will be given to those with prior experience with more than one of the following – quantitative genetics, plant tissue culture, silviculture, and genomics. Applicants must be computer savvy. Appointment: One full-time position available immediately.
