http://www.jobs.ac.uk/job/ACT911 ... o-a-renewable-fuel/ PhD in CO2 photoreduction to a renewable fuel University College London - UCL Department of Chemical Engineering Ref: 1192188 Duration of Studentship: 3 years Vacancy Information Applications are invited for a three-year PhD studentship in the area of CO2 photoreduction to a renewable fuel funded by Qatar National Research Fund. This is an international project and the successful candidate has the chance of studying worldwide. Studentship Description The goal of this project is to develop a nanostructured photocatalyst for solar energy conversion and understand the mechanism underlying artificial photosynthesis. The student will work in a multidisciplinary project involving collaboration with, amongst others, Dr Junwang Tang, UCL Chemical Engineering, who has expertise in nanomaterials and photocatalysis; Professor James Durrant, Chemistry, Imperial College, with expertise in photophysics and photochemistry; Dr Majeda Khraisheh, Chemical Engineering, Qatar University and industrial companies such as Cristal Global and JM, etc. Person Specification The candidate should have, or expect to obtain, an upper second-class or first-class honours degree (or equivalent) in chemistry or materials science.
