How to be a wise consumer on campus


    Maybe you're supported by your family and you take it for granted that you needn't save money. But to be a good kid, we should begin to learn to manage money affairs from now on. It's not easy for our parents to make money. For us college students, I think we can follow the following principles:

First, make a list. Choose what we need most and think over what's not so needed. There is trade-off, of course. It's all up to you to be wise or not.

Then, make a preliminary budget. We should make a reasonable budget according to our finacial capacity. It's unwise to overspend.

Last but not least, be a reasonable consumer. There are many skills in it. Such as we can  make an investigation prior to purchasing. By comparing various sellers on the Internet or by inquring friends or families if they have had experience with a product, we can determine which is the best for us. We can also find available discounts and price shop. That's what I do for most of the time. The same products can be priced differently at different retailers. It just takes some time to find the best price with the best quality. If possible, don't bother to bargain with the seller which can save you a lot. Another tip to mention is that we can never do impulsive shopping. Some of us may purchase goods of well-known brand to feed his or her vanity regardless of their capacity, resulting in bankruptcy for a long time. That's quite bad consumtion habbit. Think twice and keep calm.

i want to point out one things : someday i bought a wonderful wrist watch, which cost me almost 500 Dollars, equal to almost 3800RMB, it is unwise, or not reasonable comsuption ?
i want to say, of course, NO. because i need a watch, i shall keep on time on everything. secondly it is Swiss Gear Brand, one popular brand in the world, yes ,i trust the brand, and really the excellent quality wins him the comsumer's heart around the world. i can wear it for the whole life if possible! when talking about others which is really cheaper in price but with a discount in quality, perhaps only one year it would be worn out. when we vertically vision the compare, then we shall make a wise choice i think. that's a exact reason why manufacturers are doing all out to pursue the high quality.
wise or not depends on a specific point. 1. whether it is a necessity in your lifeliving. 2. make a choice before decision, once purchased, never to buy others with same function. 3. most important and first of all that we do shopping upon the money you make. that's my viewpoint. Thank you!

You were persuading yourself of buying that expensive watch? 500 dollars, that's really a large sum of money for a student. Certainly it's another case if you have worked. In my opinion, such luxuries are beyond our economical capacity whether our family is rich or poor. Such a watch is of course of fine quality and high grade. I don't favor in having such dear things when we are still in school. For what? Just to feed our vanity with our parents' money? Certainly it's not wise to buy cheap things without quality assurance. But quality isn't always proportionate to price, especially for such luxurious accessories. We can buy what we want spending less while with the same quality.  Perhaps you care much about the brand, you can buy what you want on condition that you can afford it on your own.
In saying this, I'm not aiming at you.

Sorry, you misunderstood me! perhaps it's my mistakes. the watch i've taken is only an example, Sure that quality isn't always proportional to price, but there is one thing i want to emphasize or underline that a wise comsumer is not always choosing something cheaper, instead we need to consider several points, not just price, those who focuses on quality usually spends less in the long run.
of course. what i have said is not just for students in college or university, but all the consumer at large! thanks very much for your remark.

how to be a wise consumer?

firstly, we can choose special products, they has the most reasonable ratio of quality and price.
secondly, only buy what you need, don`t spend much time in looking other products,
this is a good way to save your time and money.
thirdly, if you have spare money, you`d better have a fixed deposit account.
fourthly, you may take a part-time job, you will know that it is very difficult for us to earn money, I believe you will control yourself.

keep it in mind: bad habits aren`t easily given up, please learn to take care of our wallets, don`t trust the advertisements.
