[交流] Journal Account of the day

Yesterday, I went shopping with three of my classmates. It was sunny in the morning and the sun shone when we set out. The time we got there and got off the bus, it was spotting with rain. Luckily enough we had brought umbrellas with us although it was for protecting ourselves from sunburn. It was sultry and oppressive, but the time went inside the supermarket, it was another climate, so cool and comfortable. We enjoyed shopping there until 12 o'clock. A little tired and hungry. Then we four came to an agreement to have beef steak for lunch. Full and relaxed, we went on. It turned sunny magically then. You must be surprised that we didn't go home until 8 o'clock, strolling about the mall all the day. I was also amazed at my potential . Never have walked so long and never have I thought I would spend so long gadding about. Unbelievable. Turn in admiration for myself.

At last we took the bus home. It was about 15 minutes walk from the bus stop to the dormitory. You know we were exhausted then. To mak matters worse, it bagan to rain halfway, from drizzling to pouring, ending in thunderstorm. We were caught in the sudden storm. We ran, but it blew so strongly that it was hard to hold the unbrella and walk any further. We were wet all over. I was frightened of lightening and thunder, screaming all the way. It seemed to grow worse and worse, hardly could we hold the unbrella and go on, so we took shelter from the storm just near a car. There wasn't any sign of stopping, so desperate we were then. We tried to walk in the storm but quitted because I was nearly scared to death by the lightening and thunder. Thank godness, there was still school bus. Finally we got on the school bus and reached the dormitory successfully. Seemed like a narrow escape.

The story has not ended. It happened to have a power failure. I had to take a bath with cold water. OH, never had I experience such a plight.

We were lucky dog anyhow. It's said that the thunderstorm was once in a lifetime and many people and cars got caught last night. What's horrible, the water was about the height about half of the body and many cars just floated on the water. The traffic ran into mess then. The rain lasted about one hour, fortunately there was not much damage. Thank godness. Wish everything goes on well.
