Vacuum-dried enyne resin 3 (800 mg, 0.86 meq, 1.0 eq) was swollen with CH2Cl2 (20 mL) for 10 min, then Co2(CO)8 (1.18 g, 3.44 mmol, 4.0 eq) was added and the slurry was stirred at RT for 3 h. The solution was decanted from the flask under positive Ar pressure and the resin was washed with anhydrous CH3CN (2 ¡Á 25 mL). The resin was swollen with anhydrous CH3CN (20mL) and heated to 75 ¡ãC for 12 h, then allowed to cool to RT. The resin was washed and dried to afford cyclopentapyrrolidinones 5. |
