this is a basic kinetic question. in gerneral, a reaction involved several processes: diffusion, adsoprtion, reaction, desorption and diffusion. at low conversion, the rate determination step is controlled by the reaction, but not the diffusion. it reflects the kinetic nature. Therefore, in most of the kinetic studies, low conversion was used. if conversion is higher, such as 90%, now the diffusion will become the rate determination step. So, if using this process, it will not give a kinetic information because of the rate is controlled by the diffusion. I do not know how to attach a graph. if then a curve of reaction constant vs. 1/T will demonstrate it well . |
