Three samples of rawsoda ligninwereweighed and left in an oven heated at 110 C in air during one night. The correspondingweight losswas ascribed to moisture. Three other weighed samples placed in alumina crucibles were introduced in a furnace heated at 800 Cin air during one night, in order to burn and remove any organic and volatile substances. The remaining matter was identified as ashes andweighed. Theweight percent of dry soda ligninwas obtained as the difference: 100 moisture wt% ashes wt%. |
