How do you learn English?

After leaving college, I still spend a lot of time on English. It is not for tests or jobs but just for interest. However, I have not received much good effect. These days, I always think about what is wrong with my English studing. Could you kindly give me some advice? First of all, I want to let you know how I learn English. Because there is no English test any more, I can choose the way I like to improve my English. I buy some English magzines and read them usually. The world of English is my favourate. I always download films of USA with Chinese and English subtitle. I try my best to make clear what they said and get as little information from the subtile as possible. I ever thought that my English would be better and better if I kept on doing the things I metioned above.May be for the reason that I am a easily shy person, I do not have much exersice for oral or written English. The proble is till now I do not find much improvement in my English. I still have many difficulties to speak out and write down what I want to express clearly,which always make me confusing and frustrating. Just make use of little time,for example,when you are walking.You can use these time to read some good sentenses so that you can learn them by heart.Only one week,you can gain a lot. Come on!  |

| • Your English seems good, the meaning you want to express is clear and the passage is quite fluent. Thank you for sharing the way you learn English. For me, most of what I know was learned in the class. I do not try to learn English specially. Now, I just come to English cafe everyday where I could learn something and watch a few English films from time to time. Best wishes to you! |

i am interested in english,that is the motivation for me to learn english. but sometimes i am confused,why do i spent so much time to learn english.Is that really usefull in my ture life?Do i have to learn english? I started learning english when i was in the middel school,it about ten years ago,but i haven't got the oportunity to speak to any foreigner yet,it's ridiculous ,isn't it? i think many of you will have the same feeling with me. Now i am a postgraduate ,i still have to learnenglish, it's endless.becauce i know that english is the international language, if we can't speak english ,we can't able to catch up with the international world.Although we don't usually use enlish,it exits,and inflluents our sosial life all the time.So we can't stop learning english. |
