Two Postdoctoral Scholar position at UC-Berkeley/ Energy Biosciences Institute: Synthesis of plant cell wall polysaccharides

The Energy Biosciences Institute (EBI) at The University of California – Berkeley invites applications for two Postdoctoral Scholars available immediately in the group of Dr. Markus Pauly. Applicants should have a recent doctoral degree in plant biology, plant biochemistry, or related field. Both positions are funded for up to three years.

The first position encompasses the characterization of novel maize cell wall mutants recently identified in our lab. Experience in plant genetics and molecular biology are essential. Knowledge of plant cell walls and analytical carbohydrate chemistry are of advantage.

The second position encompasses the study of wall polymer turn-over in the apoplast. Molecular biology and protein biochemistry are essential. Knowledge of plant cell walls and analytical carbohydrate chemistry are of advantage.
