| In my experience, it is not necessary to send a reference letter to the potential postdoc mentor every time if he/she requests a letter at the early stage of an application. It may be a good way to ask your current advisor for writing a letter for you after you have communicated with him/her several times and you think there is a possibility of being offered a position. Don't waste much time on an impossible position. |
