Δ14C = 1000 x [ Fm *e^( -lambda * (CollectionYear-1950)) - 1 ] e = 2.71828 lambda = 1/true half life of 14C = 1/8267 = 0.000121 Collection Year = year of death or exchange with biosphere ceased Δ14C value is defined by Stuiver and Pollach (1977) as the relative difference between the absolute international standard (base year 1950) and sample activity corrected for age and δ13C.
