好像没有确定的数值，有的文献提到与制备方法有关，在4-6 eV之间，如Physical Review B 2004, 70, 045415；Adv. Funct. Mater. 2007, 17, 2133–2138（the work functions for rutile and anatase phases are calculated to be 4.9 and 5.1 eV）；J. Phys. Chem. B 2002, 106, 5814-5819（4.1eV）。对于anatase, 其导带大概位于-4.40 eV，价带位于-7.60 eV（相对于真空能级0eV），由于是n型半导体，其Fermi能级靠近导带，因此功函数在4.5-5.0 eV是可能的，也有可能更大，取决于n掺杂的程度。
