Visiting Research Scholar Job Description My laboratory in the Department of Neurology at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine has a position for a visiting research scientist/fellow to work on studies of Alzheimer’s Disease. The goal of the lab is to understand cellular mechanisms of phospholipid regulation in Alzheimer’s Disease pathogenesis, and the significance and implications in disease diagnosis and therapy development. Ongoing studies include studies of lipid regulation of protein sorting and processing in transgenic mouse models, using biochemistry, cell biology, immunohistochemistry procedures and neuroanatomy. Desired skills: A PhD candidate in molecular biology or an MD with a strong background in neurology is preferred. A strong background and experience in basic biochemical and/or cell biology techniques, particular in lipid biology, is preferred but not mandatory. Applicants should be able to work independently and should have strong oral and written communication skills. Applicants are expected to have hunger and eagerness to create knowledge and be quite productive in this area of investigation.
