我是供职单位支助出国做访问学者的，收到了外导的Formal inviation letter,请问这样可以做为签证的材料了吗?烦请指点，不胜感谢！

Dear Dr. ×××
It is my great pleasure to invite you to spend your sabbatical from late December 2011 until June 2012 as a visiting researcher jointly at the Department of ××× and the School of ×××at ××× (University). Professor ××× and I will be your faculty hosts.  As you may already know the Department of ××× and the School of ××× have reputations for scholarly excellence and for an outstanding research faculty, and several members of the faculty and Ph.D. students share your research interests.

the School of ×××will process your DS 2019 form as your co-host department along with the Department of ×××. You will need to complete Part II of the DS 2019 request form, which can be found on the at ××× (University)web site at http://www.cge. ×××.edu/ . The form can be found on the link “Request for Immigration Form (DS-2019).”  That portion should be completed and sent to the School.  Please contact Ms. ××× (Office Administrator) for further information about the process.

A Visiting Researcher is expected to be a full participating member of the academic community.  Because of space limitations we cannot promise you office space or a computer at this time.  You would, however, have access to our computer lab.  Visiting researchers are given a computer account and full email and library privileges at the University.  Please let me know if you have questions.  ××× (University) should provide an excellent environment to further your research, and we look forward to having you as part of our intellectual community.
