[交流] Highlights of 2005: Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics

For the second year running, I am delighted to present a special collection of articles, selected to highlight the very best research published in Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics in 2005. Articles were selected for their presentation of outstanding new research, valuable reviews of the field, the highest praise from our international referees, and the highest number of downloads from the journal’s website.

The collection contains 25 papers and topical reviews and provides a taste of the content published in the journal's six focus areas:

    * Applied Magnetism and Magnetic Materials
    * Photonics and Semiconductor Device Physics
    * Experimental, Computational and Theoretical Particle Beam and Plasma Science
    * Applied Surfaces and Interfaces
    * Structure and Properties of Matter

All of these articles are available for free until 31 December 2006.

2005 was another exciting year for New Journal of Physics (NJP). The journal saw continued growth, publishing more papers than ever before across a wide range of topics. More and more people are also reading NJP and over 40,000 articles are now downloaded each month. The journal was accessed in more than 170 countries last year.
