【Share】How to Correct Your Professor?
written by hketsun, Medical Student I was taught by this professor a while ago. He is a good teacher and I really liked his way of teaching. A number of things he taught us, however, were different from the current textbooks. It seems that no one has ever talked to him concerning this issue. And here comes the question: How do you correct a senior doctor or professor? I am sure everyone has run into this situation where a senior doctor or professor said or did something wrong. These mistakes could be incorrectly recalled medical facts or sometimes impolite ways of treating the patients. I am not trying to sound critical or arrogant here. As medical students we make mistakes every single day and I appreciate the doctors who spend much time in teaching us. The point I am trying to convey is that the accumulation of medical knowledge over time is important, but the accumulation of pride is something we must constantly avoid. As future doctors we should beware of letting our pride jeopardize our patients. Back to my original question. I wonder if I should just leave an anonymous note to the professor, send him an anonymous email, talk to another professor about it or just forget about it. what will u do if u are this student? enjoy talking |
