【Pure water】New demonstration erupts in Bahrain
|

Hundreds of protesters have taken to the streets of Bahrain's capital calling for the resignation of the government and the installation of a new constitutional monarchy. Some students rode donkey carts through Manama as the Shiite-led rally converged on Pearl Square, which has been the focal point for the country's ongoing demonstrations. Opposition supporters also blocked the entrance to the Prime Minister's office, but failed to disrupt a meeting. In a statement released on Sunday, Bahrain's Chamber of Commerce said general economic conditions in the kingdom are very difficult. The island's tourism industry has been hit the hardest, as revenue fell about 80 percent. |
