【Pure water】Poll puts Sarkozy behind national front

A recent opinion poll in France gives far right National Front party leader Marine Le Pen, a higher rating than President Nicolas Sarkozy. The poll asked respondents who they'd vote for, if the first round of presidential elections were held on Sunday. 23 percent, said Le Pen, while conservative Sarkozy, and Socialist Martine Aubry, only polled 21 percent. The poll results are so close that Le Pen's lead is statistically insignificant, but they constitute a warning shot, to the president, ahead of presidential elections in April. Le Pen, claims the French feel dispossessed, in their own country, blaming immigration and globalization. |
