【Pure water】More Chinese nationals return home

As the second chartered Air China flight touches down on the Greek island of Crete, many Chinese nationals will be on the way home in a few hours. Over two thousand other Chinese have been evacuated to Malta by ferry, amid the chaos in Libya. Under the arrangement of the Chinese Embassy to Greece, hundreds of Chinese citizens evacuated from Libya have arrived at the airport in Crete. Medical supplies are available at the airport for those who were wounded during the turmoil. Evacuees voiced happiness, as in a few hours, they'll be on their way home. "We came here together. I'm very excited that I can see my family soon. Despite a long journey, I felt safe when I arrived in Greece." "All of us are very happy to be going home. We feel so glad to be getting back to the motherland." Meanwhile, more than two thousand Chinese nationals have fled Libya for Malta on a ferry arranged by the Chinese Embassy to Malta. Relieved to be leaving the Libyan unrest behind, people expressed their gratitude to all of those involved in the evacuation efforts. "We have spent two days aboard the ship. Some of us have been sea-sick. But we have got back on our feet, although the past week has been difficult. Thanks to all who helped us. " More than 10 Maltese citizens have returned home on the same ferry. The ship will be a temporary shelter for the Chinese nationals before their chartered flight arrives. Basic supplies and medical equipment have been sent for the evacuees by the Chinese Embassy. |
