【Pure water】Greek police clash with protesters

|
Greek police have clashed with thousands of protesters rallying against the government's austerity measures in central Athens. Protesters planned to spend the night in a main square in front of a parliament building. Police chased the protesters down several streets until the crowds finally dispersed. The move followed several hours of clashes during which officers fired tear gas at protesters, who in turn hurled petrol bombs at the police. Earlier workers called a 24-hour general strike, causing more than 100 flights to be cancelled and many schools and businesses to be closed. |
