[交流] 【Pure water】Two German journalists released by Iran

Two German journalists, detained for four months in an Iranian jail, have arrived at Berlin's Tegel airport.

Jens Koch and Marcus Hellwig had been arrested in connection with a highly publicized stoning case. They were brought home from Tehran by German Foreign Minister, Guido Westerwelle. Westerwelle held a rare meeting with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in Tehran.

A leading Iranian opposition representative has called Westerwelle's visit a "disgrace". He says Germany is bowing to the regime, and this could deal a blow to popular protests gathering new steam amid the turmoil in the Middle East. But the German Foreign Ministry stressed the visit's aim was solely to obtain the release of the two journalists. Iran freed Koch and Hellwig on Saturday.
