The entry of goods in and out of China looks set to become harder for counterfeiters. The General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine will strengthen its efforts against the crime of making or using fake entry-exit Inspection and Quarantine certificate by joining hands with other government departments.
  According to the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, local departments should strengthen their efforts to check the goods quarantine certificate at major ports.
  Zhang Yujun, Shenzhen Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, said, "We have increased the frequency we check certificates on certain goods such as mobile phones, clothes, shoes and so on. "
  A new quarantine certificate is now in ust at every port across China, a shift that took place at the start of the year.
  Its anti-counterfeiting ability have been improved in a variety of ways.
  Xu Bo said, " The main characteristics of the new certificates are that the paper and printing ink has anti-counterfeiting ability. The "CIQ" mark on the upper-left side and the "Original" mark on the right side of the certificate will change color under a fluorescent light. "
  The local quarantine departments will also link up with the public security bureau in a bid to crack down on enterprises using fake certificates.
  Xu Honggang, Shenzhen Public Security Bureau, said, "We strongly advise enterprises not to use fake quarantine certificates to save money. The action is illegal, and will be prosecuted for criminal liability once found by the police. "
  To further crack down on the illegal action, the General Administration of Quality Supervison, Inspection and Quarantine has also encouraged the public to provide any information on those making or using fake seals or certificates.
