摘要: In this paper, the theory of biomechanical balance of the cervical vertebrae (CV) from prior medical studies was used to help explain the cause of CV injuries suffered by divers Some medical research has recently shown that CV diseases were closely related to biomechanical imbalance of the CV and some therapies, which aim to restore equilibrium to the biomechanical balance of the CV have also been tried (Jiang et al 2002, Ran, 2003) In this study, we firstly reanalysed the data given by (zhou,2002) on CV injuries on a sample of 312 divers and explained the causes of CV injures by focusing on the anatomical characteristics of the CV and the biomechanical balance principle The conclusion is that CV injuries may be caused by damage of the biomechanical balance of the CV Then, based on this theory, combined with some medical knowledge-suitable exercises and appropriate therapeutic intervention which aim to maintain the biomechanical balance of CV coaches therapists and trainers were suggested to treat and prevent CV injuries in sporting events
