[交流] 【Share】Work Harder, Better in 2011?

Many resolutions have been made for the new year ahead and hopes are high that this year will be more promising than the last. After listening, once again, to the rousing beat of Daft Punk's "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger" I found my instruction manual for 2011.

Harder: Working harder takes all that remaining energy we have after the caffeine wears off and puts it to productive use. There may not be much left over, but giving every last ounce will make a difference. Being the first one to arrive, last one to leave and working your tail off in between shows you are willing to work hard on rotations. In the classroom you dedicate yourself to the information presented and avoid surfing the internet until the next break.

Better: Being efficient with our time in medical school is a problem no matter who you are. There is more information out there than we could possibly consume. Choosing our resources and the time we allot to each will maximize our productivity. Take opportunities to enjoy life along the way with friends, family and personal time, but don't be apathetic about studying accordingly.

Faster: Unbridled hastiness leads to errors and that is the last thing we want at this point in our education. Accept procrastination in your vocabulary and avoid it in your responsibilities. Not only will you have more accomplished quicker, but you will obtain a sense of satisfaction for completing tasks early and on schedule. Nobody likes the feeling of mounting tasks waiting for attention at a later date.

Stronger: Clinical advisors, patients and professors are doing their best to thicken our skin in preparation for the day we are attending. When we err don't let that knock you down for good. Get up, brush off the mistake, and move forward with life. The strength comes in learning from our past and continuing the journey with new insight.
