Qingyang Temple
Located in the southwestern suburb of Chengdu, Qingyang Temple is the No.1 temple in the west of Sichuan Province. Its history can be traced back to The Three Kingdoms Period (220¨C280). The legend says it is the birthplace of the founder of Taoism, Lao Tsu, and where he preached the Taoism.
Today, visitors can find a lot of important Taoist cultural relics displayed in the temple, such as the stone sculpture of L¨¹ Dongbin, one of the eight legendary immortals, and the wooden engraving of the Dao Zang Ji Yao (the Abstract of Collected Taoist Scriptures).

Wuhou Temple
The Wuhou Temple is a famous historical and cultural relic in Chengdu which has enjoyed a history of many centuries. First built in 223, it was built as a sacred place of the Three Kingdoms and a perfect example of the architecture in the Three Kingdoms period (220¨C280). For nearly 1,800 years, it is a famous tourist destination in the city.
Wuhou Temple is mainly composed of five buildings, including the front gate, the interior gate, the hall for Emperor Liu Bei (the emperor of Shu Kingdom), the hall for Zhuge Liang (a chancellor of Shu Kingdom during the Three Kingdoms period who is often recognized as the greatest and most accomplished strategist of his era), and Hui Mausoleum (the mausoleum of the Emperor Liu Bei).

Wenshu Temple
Enjoying a history of over 1,000 years, Wenshu Temple is the largest and best preserved Buddhist Temple in Chengdu. For many centuries, it has been a welcomed travel destination for pilgrims and visitors. It is well known for the rich collection of ancient paintings, sutras, calligraphy and other cultural relics. Besides, it is a good place to experience the typical old Chengdu life style. Locals are fond of the nearby teahouse and vegetarian restaurants.

Zhaojue Temple
Located five kilometers to the northern suburbs in Chengdu, Zhaojue Temple is an important Buddhist temple in Sichuan Province. The temple was built in the 7th century. Today most of the buildings were the historical relics of Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) and they were carefully renovated in the 1980s. Situated among lush trees, the temple now houses over 200 Buddhist monks and is frequently visited by faithful Buddhists.

Daci Temple
Located in Dacisi Road in the center of Chengdu, Daci Temple is a famous ancient monastery in the city. Originally built in Tang Dynasty (618-907), it is an extraordinary treasure house which collects a variety of sutras, paintings and idols. It has been destroyed and rebuilt several times in history. Now it played an important role in the Buddhist academic exchanges in China, Korea and Japan.
