The reason is that you described a two stage reaction system of pyrolysis and raw syngas utilization that never involved the production of bio-oil and the title and abstract are as a result very misleading. Reviewer #1: The paper presents systematic investigations of the biofuels synthesis from the CO2-rich syngas in a fixed bed reactor with FeCuZnAlK catalysts. In my opinion, it is an important topic for both biomass energy utilization and CO2 sequestration. Under optimized condition, the yield of biofuel with a higher heating value more than 35 MJ/kg reaches 0.63 kg / (kgcata.h). The authors also studied reverse water-gas shift and methanation steps through a mixture gas of CO2 and H2. This paper is well presented and indeed publishable. Nevertheless, the reviewer would like to suggest that a schematic diagram of the setup should be provided to clearly show the experimental procedure and how the setup works. Besides, the characterization of the spent FeCuZnAlK catalyst is also suggested. |
