World soccer's governing body has chosen Russia as the host country for the 2018 World Cup.

FIFA president Sepp Blatter made the announcement in Zurich, Switzerland, on Thursday, emphasizing the importance of the game for the world.

FIFA's executive board voted after hearing final presentations from the bidders of the 2018 Cup. Britain and Russia made bids against joint offers from Spain-Portugal and Netherlands-Belgium.

Prince William and international soccer star David Beckham joined Prime Minister David Cameron in leading Britain's presentation, but Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin was notably absent from his nation's delegation.

What I'm thinking about is when our China can be offered to host the game. If yes, we don't have to fight for the qualification in Asia. Or I'm not confident to watch the game held in China in my life time.
